Beam in Gap System Brochure

Numbers of installed units:

HEBT: 1

Responsible parties:

Physics support: R. Shafer

Analog electronics: John Power, LANL.

Digital electronics: Matt Stettler, LANL.

Mechanical systems: Ross Meyer, LANL

Measurement:

The Beam in Gap system provides a method to make an absolute measurement of beam intensity in the gap (i.e., beam between the mini pulses). It is based on laser stripping from H to H0, and must be positioned in the HEBT arc.

Key specifications:

Accuracy of intensity measurement                        1 part in 1E4 at full beam power.

Inputs:

Laser readbacks.

H0 intensity.

RTDL/event link.

120 Vac (on/off control via control system).

Channel Access

Outputs:

Laser control.

Laser position control.

Channel Access.

Delivery schedule:

Spring 2003 deliver system.
