Accelerator Physics meeting minutes 10/04/2001 Present: J. Wei, J Galambos, S. Cousineau, M. Doleans, S. Danilov, S. Aleksandrov, E. Tanke, S. Kim, D.Jeon, J. Holmes, P. Chu Jie Wei discussed the crisis ebvents that unfolded the past week. These included finding mistakes in magnet power supply procurment specifications at a late time, having collimators move without communication to the proper distribution, and finding a mistake in the lattice calculations of the ring injection bump requirements. E. Tanke reviewed the status of the revised CCL magnet procurement specs, indicating the proposed changes to make the procurement consistent with the device parameters. The biggest change is in the shunt ratings (2 to 25 amp) and should be a minimal if any, cost impact, S. Henderson reviewed the changes in the injection kicker reqirements. Two of the kicker power supply ratings are increasing significantly (from ~ 120 A to ~ 1400 A), and will be a large cost impact. The reason for the change derives from the use of a more realistic thick lens dipole element (instead of thin lens) and allowing for a range of quad working point values in the injection straight. Each individual needs to be vigilant in fully checking responsible systems. A more formal physics approval system will be formulated. A centralized up to date source of magnet information will be organized. S. Henderson noted that a weekly Ring meeting is being started in the RATS building, and he will also be the interface with the Target group.
