Minutes of the Accelerator Physics Group meeting 11/15/01 Present: J. Wei, J. Galambos, S. Henderson, J. Holems, S. Danilov, S. Cousineau, S. Aleksandrov, D. Jeon, E. Tanke, P. Chu. A. Shishlo, J. Wei recaped the DOE review, which went well. Some areas of followup are concern over lack of MEBT halo diagnostics (questions exist as to optimal placement and position avaiability) and DTL scraping. Colleagues at Sacaly have offered to help model the RFQ and Front End. A proposal is to use Toutatis to model the LEBT/RFQ and to examine halo as a function of current. Another DOE recomendation to develope commissioning plans for reduced energy will likely not be adopted. J. Galambos requestedfeedback on the proposed list of Process Variables and Accelerator Sequences. E. Tanke is putting the linac lattice information on the WWW. J. Stovall and D. Jeon discussed workondetermining the required number and positions of the wire scanners needed for DTL to CCL matching. S. Henderson and S. Kim are looking at the heat load problem in the linac dump window, which arises due to the fact tha the beam is at a waist at the window position. ANSYS calculations will provide the minimum beam size there, and the quad strengths may be reconfgured to accomodate this.
