Minutes SNS Accelerator Physics Group Mtg. 1/10/02 Present: J. Wei, J. Galambos, S. Henderson, S. Danilov, J. Holmes, S. Cousineau, S. Aleksandrov, D. Jeon, S. Kim, M. Doleans, P. Chu, A. Shsishlo, S. Assadi J. Galambos noted that new people would be showing up in early Jan. (T. Pelaia, K. Danilova, and L. Kravchuk). Jie Wei noted that L. Young had done some LEBT simulations and sees emittance blowup during chopping. The linac ideogram maintainence at LANL will be shifted to E. Tanke. Also, the low energy scraping status was reviewed. The story is the same as before, MEBT scraping is preferred. E. Tanke noted that the DTL corrector power supplies bids were muchhigher than the cost estimate. The current requirement is being looked into. G. Reese is working on a 10 MW SNS case. He is comparing the SCL vs warm linac error effects and finds the SCL to be more sensitive. This may be dure to the large number of cavities used in the European design. D. Jeon is writing up the reference line stability requirement documentation. The end-2end simulation is being prepared with mismatch. Diagnostic errors are also being included in the linac commisioning algorithm studies. P. Chu is working on an interface to the correlator, and testing it. The EPAC abstracts were reviewed. There are 8 from the AP group.
