Date Nov. 2, 2000 Attendees S. Aleksandrov, S. Cousineau, P. Chu, S. Danilov, M. Doleans, J. Galambos, D. Jeon, S. Kim, Y. Papaphilippou W. Wan, J. Wei J. Wie welcomed Paul Chu to the group and reviewd the budget dilema facing SNS. He went through the dry run talk defending the AP staffing plan. An action item is to tabulate the beam jitter from different sources, even if the magnitude is small (Weshi will initiate). The dynamic (microphonic, DTL stem movement, etc.) and static sources will be included. Yannis noted that the ring talk went smooth, but that there is alot of interest in the 1 MW operation. John Galambos noted in the application programming meeting there was concern about enough time and fnds to support the UAL/new middleware developement. There also seemed to be concerns about planning and resources to develop all the application programs. Sang ho was asked the relation between APT and SNS, and also the magnitude of the HOM power . He is presently calculating the Q_external for each HOM. Slava noted that the calcuklated filed in YY's reduced impedance kicker scheme is 4 times too low. He has also finished his transverse impedance model in ORBIT and is testing it. He will begin to investigate the H- stripping models to determine their uncertainty, and also look into the H-o excited state loss calculation (use a code from J. Galambos). J. Wie noted that BNL has a new SNS org. chart with Yannis in charge of the ring, Deepak for the transfer lines, and Alexi for beam dynamics.
