The front end has been brought back on line with improvements. MEBT improvements include correction of the alignment of the second quadrupole, power supply improvements for quadrupoles and rebuncher cavities, and LLRF phase and amplitude stability. The high voltage converter modulator for the RFQ was also improved. There are some remaining problems. The beam comes into the MEBT with an 0.6 mm vertical displacement. There is amplitude jitter in the BPMs, but the current transformer and wire scanners are working well. Problems with the LEBT pattern generator prevented testing the LEBT chopper. RF trips typically occur every 15-30 minutes. It required four days to obtain the first beam, and the front end looks good for providing high quality beam for DTL commissioning.
